Tecnoform’s main manufacturing facilities are located in Crespellano, near Bologna. However, the company also has manufacturing facilities in Pordenone near Udine and takes advantage of a network of complementary partners. Tecnoform can produce over 13.000 part numbers every day with a level of quality and reliability that allows it to be a strategic partner even to customers who manufacture according to the Just-in-time and Free-Pass-Delivery systems.

Equipment
The 350.000 sq. ft. of covered facilities house a great amount of machinery. Many of them cost over 1 million euro. Because our customers cannot tolerate that their assembly lines come to an unforeseen stop, our manufacturing philosophy gives priority to redundancy and resilience to disasters and large orders. That means having equipment that normally stays idle and a network of manufacturing partners that must be kept busy throughout the year.

There is virtually no equipment sharing among the 6 product lines. In a day we can manufacture up to 1000 tables, or counter tops, and up to 12.000 doors roughly equally divided among the 4 categories. This can be possible only by the utilization of highly automated equipment. Actually, the company’s investment in manufacturing technology does not stop at purchasing expensive equipment. In fact, special equipment is often co-developed with its suppliers. At times it is even developed or modified internally.

Worflow Assetts
Tecnoform’s love for technology goes well beyond the pure manufacturing equipment. Let’s take for example the company’s investment in workflow assetts. It started in 1973 with the purchase of an IBM 370 mainframe. At the time very few large companies, mostly banks, had such a computer. Today Tecnoform makes intensive usage of Information Technology tools such as ERP and EDI applications. It has to. Tecnoform manufactures thousands of components everyday for a large number of customers. Some of them manufacture just a few vehicles a day. Others, manufacture a few dozens every day. Different customers, different models, different layouts, different materials, different shapes, different styles, and so on. And to top it off, some of our most advanced customers use the Just-in-time and Free-pass delivery manufacturing principles…yet, day after day, Tecnoform makes it happen for all of its customers!
