Off-board assembly of complete furniture
The introduction of material cutting with CNC machines and the consequent possibility of bringing on board assembled furniture, was one of the most important innovations introduced by Tecnoform in the Eighties. Thanks to this innovation, every furniture element was the same as the previous and the following one. The big advantage for shipyards was that they could order furniture already completely assembled and fit it inside the yachts; the only thing they had to do was to adjust the exceeding parts to the variations of the fibreglass. Varnishing cycle with direct 100 gloss finishing
Right after the innovation of deliverying completely assembled furniture elements Tecnoform introduced a varnishing cycle with direct 100 gloss finishing. Up to then the varnishing of furniture was completed on board the yachts. This process, varnishing in small environments, entailed great implications in terms of costs and health problems for the operators. Thanks to this innovation, the furniture could now be completely varnished and finished outside the yacht, avoiding environmental problems and economic losses. Reversible standardized counter-frame doors
Up to the introduction of this innovation, rounded counter-framed doors could only be created in lamellar material, which impoverished the aspect of a technical solution that otherwise enabled a shipyard to speed up the assembly of doors on board the yachts. Thanks to in-depth studies and experiments, Tecnoform was able to create this solution in real solid wood, making it suitable for the most sophisticated environments and giving it, at the same time, maximum assembling flexibility, thanks to particular devices that make these doors reversible in 4 directions. The strong wish to industrialize the building of furnishings for yachts drove Tecnoform to propose a standard and elegant solution for the extension of tables. In the past only artisanal methods and mechanisms had been used and they were, of course, more complex for the user to operate. This is how the first extensible table with assisted mechanism was planned and mounted as default in the marine industry.
